School Association

Dursley Primary Academy Parents Association

All parents of children at Dursley Primary School are part of our parent’s association – and this is your page to let you know what’s going on, what the money that you raise is spent on, and how you can help.

School Association Members:

Chair: Pete Morgan

I have a son in Cherry Class and became involved with the School Association just last year.

The aim of the School Association is to support the teaching staff and enhance the education of every child at our school. If you have any suggestions, or can offer any help, please, please do not hesitate in getting in contact with us.

Offering help can lead to trepidation that you will be asked and obliged to give more time - I promise this will not happen; we will not make any additional requests of your time.  We are only as strong as the involvement that we receive from our school community therefore any time you can give to support our events and fundraising activities will be greatly appreciated!

Please get in touch by approaching me in the playground, call 07739 183073 or email pmorgan100@hotmail.com.

Vice Chair: Kelly Watts

As a member of staff at the School I see, first hand, the positive effect and influence provided by the support of the School Association.  From provision of teaching equipment in the classrooms to improvement of facilities around the school estate, the efforts of the School Association benefit every child at the school.  Please be assured that any time and help you can give the School Association in running events or helping out will improve the experience of every child at the school.

Secretary: Kristy Exell

I have been supporting the School Association for more than 10 years, being secretary for much of that time. Due to my children moving on to secondary school, I will be leaving the School Association this summer.

The School Association is only as effective as the number of parents and carers that take an active role; please do not hesitate to get involved!

Treasurer: Emily Poskett

My Daughter is in Magnolia Class and I have been involved with the School Association since my son started at Dursley in 2015, becoming treasurer since 2018.

As Treasurer, I am well placed to see the contribution the School Association makes to our School. Fundraising activities such as cake sales, Christmas Bazaar, Summer Fayre enable the School Association to buy items that benefit every child at our school.

Most recently, we have raised funds to replace the much loved, but worn out, train in the infant playground with a new climbing frame and bought visualisers for each classroom. These purchases would not have been possible without your support!

We now have a go fund me page, for anyone who would like to make an online donation to the school association:

The School Association would like to share with you this summary of how funds were generated and used last year. As you can see it was a challenging year, due to COVID19 and key events like the summer fair being cancelled. We would like to thank you for all your support, and encourage you to help your school association to raise funds for the school virtually during this next school year. All suggestions and support is very welcome.

The School Says “School association has made a genuine impact in supporting school life this year, in both developing the curriculum and enriching school life. We are really really grateful for the support which makes  a very real difference.”

All parents, carers, teachers and friends of Dursley Primary School  are welcome to join our school association. Please contact schoolassociation@dursley.gloucs.sch.uk to join the mailing list, and please come along to the next meeting to share future ideas for fundraising events as well as contribute to discussions on how the funds are spent.
